Hindsight is 20/20

The little baby chick died this evening for reasons unknown. I suspect that the 'mother' was eating all the food and water and not leaving any for the chick. Looking back I should have known that she wasn't going to take care of it because once all her eggs were gone it was like her purpose as a mother disappeared and she became once again just a regular chicken. I wish that I had just taken the chick, put it under heat and made sure it had food and water. But... hindsight is 20/20. Rest in peace little chicky.
