A couple things we've been working on...

Since my husband K arrived home from his shift in China on the 10th we have...

Roughed in the dry creek bed that will divert water away from the house when spring tries to melt all the snow into our basement.
Started the demolition on the sidewalk on the east side of the house that is causing serious drainage problems

Watching Daddy use the jack hammer

After about seven hours of hammering, this is all the progress K has made.  Apparently whoever put the sidewalk in wanted to make sure it was never coming out!  Its six bloody inches thick!
Oh and I also started ripping out one of the bathrooms but its pretty tiny and doesn't really allow for good pictures so I will do a complete post on that when its all done!

One of these days I'll show you the rest of my garden but for now here are my gorgeous Delphiniums that I love so much!

Anise!

Licorice had her calf on Thursday!  It was another heifer calf and I named her Anise which makes sense because her mom is Licorice, right?  ;)  She's looks so tiny next to T-Bone and Pepper who were born back in May.

Isn't she pretty?  She came right over to me and let me pet her head.

Quote of the Day

"Mama?  Can I use you as a foot stool?"

Can you guess who asked that this morning?

Hello Hova-Bator!

Way back on June 10th I ordered my Hova-Bator Incubator.  Then the Canada Post Mail strike happened and it didn't show up.  I'm happy to report that it is humming away on my side board with 36 eggs all snug and warm inside.

Don't they look cozy?

They should start to hatch on July 27th as long as Uncle(in an attempt to spite me) didn't decide to remain celibate for the two weeks he was locked up with the hens!

You know you're a Redneck when...

you get excited about driving your neighbor's tractor!  But seriously, who wouldn't be excited?

My neighbor got stuck in his field seeding a few days back and came to ask if I wanted to learn to drive the tractor.  Not only did I get to drive it but I got to tow him out of the field too!  Oh I love the country life!

Oh Canada!

Nothing says Canada more than a stop at Tim Horton' for a Canada donut(sorry I don't have a picture) before heading to the Canada Day Festivities at the Rotary Park.  The kids of course needed to play on the bouncy slide
And the bouncy house

And have their faces painted.

We also got henna tattoos and stood in the sparkle tattoo line up for 45 minutes before being told we still had another 40 or so minutes to wait.  Yeah, we left at that point and got ice cream instead.  Tonight the fireworks go off around 11:00 pm so we're just hanging out at home until then enjoying being Canadian!!

Happy Canada Day!!
